Description
Here I have composed random alphabets of arabic in khat e kufic. The painting is inspired from the static and geometric shape of khat e kufic. My work is representation of islamic culture. As an artist I wanted to fuse my philosophies, ideas. I introduced color and a freer flowing art form. I was also using text to look like texture in the paintings. I felt I had to make it my own and represent them visually. For me, every language is incredibly poetic and expressive. I am translating the rich meanings of the script through my contemporary calligraphy which is surrounded by bright and vivid paint. In all paintings, The calligraphic brushstroke was an approach to abstract painting that focused on the spontaneous gesture of the my hand and was informed by the Islamic calligraphy and Persian art. Painting medium is oil paints.
